Russian air defense successfully repulsed a new attack on the Khmeimim air base

Russian air defense systems repelled an attack on the Khmeimim air base.

Tonight, according to sources, the Russian military air base Khmeimim was again attacked by unmanned aerial vehicles launched by the enemy from the north-east. Unmanned aerial vehicles, and according to some reports, it’s about 3-4 drones, they were successfully shot down at a safe distance from the Hmeimim air base, while the monitoring resource Sentry Syria reports that after that Russia lifted its planes into the sky obviously for retaliatory strikes.

This is by no means the first attempt by militants to attack the Russian military base Khmeimim since the conclusion of the agreements between Moscow and Ankara, and, apparently, Turkey has not been able to take control of the situation, and therefore, it is logical to say that Russia can at any time break the agreement, especially against the background of the fact that this concerns the threat to the Russian military forces in Syria.

There are no official statements from representatives of the defense departments on this subject, however, Russian air defense systems successfully repel attacks on Russian military bases in Syria.

According to official data, since the first attempt to attack the Russian military air base "Khmeimim", all attacks were successfully repelled, including when they used multiple launch rocket systems.
