Fighter of the sixth generation

Russian sixth generation fighter can get into service with a laser cannon

A new generation fighter can be armed with a laser cannon.

The sixth generation fighter, which may appear in Russia's armament by 2035, about the development of which information has already been published, can be equipped with a laser cannon designed to destroy ground and air targets. The development of appropriate weapons is already being carried out by Russian scientists. At the same time, according to a number of assumptions, the MiG-41 fighter-interceptor may also receive laser armament in the future, which may also enter service with Russia by the end of this decade.

According to analysts, the new weapons will have a relatively short range: probably no more than 15-20 kilometers. Given the capabilities of this weapon, this will be quite enough to defeat almost all existing targets and attack land and sea targets.

By the way, Russia is far from the only country that plans to use laser weapons on its combat aircraft. So, a few days ago it became known that the United States intends to test a fighter with laser weapons installed on it in a wind tunnel. This indicates that the American side has made significant progress in this direction.
