This is due not only to the fact that the engine will be installed on heavy fighters, but also to the fact that it will be able to maintain flight at supersonic speed in cruise mode.

To date, the development of the second stage engine for the Su-57 fighter is at its final stage, which, according to knowledgeable sources, indicates that on the first serial Su-57, the "product 30" may appear by 2024-2025. and this also means that at least 30 Su-57 fighters as part of the Russian Aerospace Forces, within the framework of a previously concluded contract, will receive a second stage engine.

According to a number of media reports, at the moment, large-scale production of fifth generation Su-57 fighters has not been deployed due to the fact that it is with the engine of the second stage that these combat units will receive the maximum potential, moreover, in the purchase of Russian fifth generation fighters, precisely with the latest engines interested in India, Algeria, China, Myanmar and other countries of the world.
