The transportation of electronic cigarettes in an airplane may be prohibited in the US.

As it became known from the press center of the US State Department of Security, the inclusion of electronic cigarettes in the list of prohibited items on board passenger planes is associated primarily with ensuring state security. An explosive device can easily be disguised as an electronic cigarette, and this in turn is clearly contrary to security.

Recently, the US has seriously increased security at airports in connection with the threat of terrorist acts. More thorough inspections at airports concern passengers traveling to the country, especially for airlines from the following countries to the US from Europe and Central Asia.
