In the USA, the Russian Su-34 was highly appreciated.
The publication on the information portal "The National Interest" tells about the training flights of the Russian Su-34 fighter bomber. The author of the article highly appreciates the aircraft, literally admiring its capabilities and calling the exercises "extreme."
The teachings discussed in the publication were held in the Western Military District. Su-34 crews worked out refueling in the air, combined with extreme conditions. Even the refueling maneuver itself is difficult, in this case it was carried out with heavy clouds and at low temperatures. The situation was complicated by the electronic countermeasures of the adversary.
The pilots had to deal with difficult weather conditions, and radio interference, and counteract the air defense system of a conventional enemy. The maneuverable fighters of the "enemy" also complicated everything, but the Su-34 pilots successfully coped with the tasks. Refueling of fighters was carried out from the Il-78 tanker. A video about the event was published by the Zvezda TV channel. The NI columnist Mark Episkopos called the exercises extreme.
As experts comment, the Su-34 fighter received a new avionics while upgrading, but its electronic jamming complex became a special component. It includes external radar receivers. The aircraft is also able to use EW Khibiny modules or L005-С Sorbtion-C modules. Mark Episkopos is of the opinion that Russian EW can provide fighters with such cover that they will disappear from radar screens.

Sergei, the fact of the matter is that there were no "flattering American assessments", we have to flatter ourselves.
Even without them, we know that this is a good fighter bomber, as Syria has shown, and let the flattering assessments of the Americans leave with them, but we will think that their ingratiation is due to their cowardice or desire to have more professional information about our aircraft.
I read the article itself in The National Interest (March 4). We are not talking about any "admiration" at all. Dry unbiased review. Why curry favor with "American opinion"? The SU-34 does not need their admiration, and there is no need to invent them.
The last phrase in the article is misrepresentation. In the original article Episkopos writes: "... Russian engineers argue that a specialized Su-34 can provide such effective cover for several fighters that they will simply disappear from enemy radar." So this is not the opinion of the expert himself, but a reference to what some Russians are saying.
