SBU detained Ukrainian oligarch Medvedchuk in Transcarpathia

Ukrainian oligarch Medvedchuk was detained by Ukrainian special services in Transcarpathia.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced that as a result of the work of the special services of Ukraine, Ukrainian oligarch Viktor Medvedchuk was detained. Initially, the information was perceived as unreliable, even despite the fact that Zelensky posted a photo of the detained oligarch on the Web, however, after a while, a second photo appeared, in which one can no doubt recognize Viktor Medvedchuk in handcuffs.

According to Avia.pro's source, the Ukrainian oligarch was detained by the SBU in Transcarpathia. Moreover, according to a number of data, foreign specialists helped the Ukrainian special services to trace the movement of Viktor Medvedchuk, since there was no data on the whereabouts of Medvedchuk since the start of the Russian military special operation in Ukraine.

Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that the information about the detention of Viktor Medvedchuk needs to be rechecked and so far this information cannot be confirmed by the Russian side.

Experts draw attention to the fact that, in fact, having captured the Ukrainian oligarch, Kyiv may try to exchange him for ensuring the withdrawal of the encircled Ukrainian military, nationalists and mercenaries from the completely surrounded Mariupol, although at the moment Ukraine has not put forward any demands in this regard.
