A plane flying from Rome to Moscow was struck by lightning.

The night before, lightning struck a passenger airliner flying from the Italian capital to Moscow. According to preliminary data, the incident occurred almost immediately after takeoff, however, despite the rather great danger, the crew commander decided to continue the flight to the capital's Sheremetyevo airport.

It is reported that as a result of the accident, none of the people on board the passenger airliner was injured, and although the name of the air carrier was not officially disclosed, according to the online scoreboard, we are talking about Aeroflot airline (flight SU2409 - ed.).

Despite the absence of any official comments, at the disposal of the Avia.pro resource there was information that the plane of the domestic air carrier received a number of damages, in connection with which it was suspended from flights.

It is necessary to clarify that modern passenger airliners are equipped with a lightning protection system, which is why most of these incidents end without any consequences, however, for light aircraft, this almost always leads to a plane crash.
