The first flight of the military transport aircraft Il-112 will be held before the end of the year.

The press service of the United Aircraft Corporation announced that the flight prototype of the newest Russian military transport aircraft Il-112 is preparing to make its first ascent into the sky. This will happen, most likely, before the end of the year, and experts believe that such a significant event is scheduled for August-September, since at the moment the aircraft is undergoing basic checks before making its first flight.

"The tests confirmed one of the most important parameters of aircraft survivability, its ability to withstand design loads. The fulfillment of the next stage of creating a promising light transport carrier Il-112V allows us to expect that by the end of this year the aircraft will rise to the sky ", - said the vice-president of the United Aircraft Corporation on transport aviation A. Rogozin.

It should be clarified that the newest Russian military transport aircraft IL-112 will have to replace the already outdated An-24 aircraft, and, according to experts, already in 2019, these aircraft will be used by Russian military.

"This aircraft will definitely be in demand, not only on the territory of Russia, but also in other countries, which is promoted by its prospects, and improved, in comparison with An-24 and An-26, flight performance", - says expert Avia.pro.

* Il-112 is a projected Russian lightweight transport aircraft of a new generation designed to replace the fleet of An-24 and An-26 aircraft. The release is planned in two versions: for civil aviation (IL-112T) and military transport aircraft (IL-112V). It is designed to carry 44 passengers for a distance of 1000-2400 km.
