Destruction of a Russian airplane over the Mediterranean Sea can worsen relations between Russia and Syria.

According to available information, the day after the destruction of the Russian airplane over the Mediterranean Sea by the Syrian complex of S-200, Bashar Assad tried to contact the Russian president, but Vladimir Putin refused to telephone conversation. According to experts, this could mean a serious deterioration in relations between the two countries.

In fact, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation acknowledged the fact that the Russian Il-20 aircraft was shot down by a Syrian missile, although at the same time the coast of Syria was protected by Russian air defense systems.

It should be clarified that such information appeared almost simultaneously in the Russian and Syrian press, however, the Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov stated that such information is provocative and completely refuted them.

"This is not true", - stressed Dmitry Peskov.

According to analysts, in the near future Russia and Syria will have to work out a plan of joint actions in case of new attacks from Israel, the Western coalition or the US, which will help to avoid such a situation in the future.
