Russia is ready to move from fifth-generation fighters to sixth-generation fighters.

This is mainly about systems responsible for airborne weapons, navigation and aircraft control, and these factors can become predetermining for fighter aircraft of the future.

It should be clarified that the first information that the development of a sixth-generation fighter is being developed in Russia appeared in 2016, but more recently it became known that a new-generation fighter is likely to be built on the basis of Su-57, which acceptance of this aircraft into service, allows you to begin testing it with new functional equipment.

On the other hand, not all experts consider the Russian Su-57 a fighter belonging to the fifth generation, which is due to the lack of use of stealth technologies or their extremely low efficiency (protrusions, rivets, etc.), in connection with which the assumption arises that the creation of the next generation aircraft may be very problematic for Russia.

In turn, it is necessary to clarify that China was the first country to submit a prototype of the sixth generation fighter Dark Sword, which is supposed to exist in both manned and unmanned versions.
