F-35 fighter accidentally shot down the latest American drone XQ-58A Valkyrie

The fifth-generation American fighter shot down the latest.

The latest American drone, the XQ-58A Valkyrie, was shot down by an American fifth-generation fighter, the F-35. The incident occurred due to an error in the crew of the combat aircraft, while the drone received significant damage, however, despite this fact, it was able to land on the territory of the test site.

“The incident occurred on October 9 at the Yuma test site in Arizona (USA) while landing a drone. Prior to this, the UAV was in the air for about 90 minutes. Presumably, the drone was damaged due to "strong surface winds" and anomalies of the parachute system "- Lenta.ru reports.

It is noteworthy that a number of sources also indicate the fact that the unmanned aerial vehicle was hit by a jet stream of an F-35 fighter, and this happened due to a pilot error, which flew directly in front of the drone.

Due to the lack of official comments on this matter, experts can not yet confidently name the reasons for the incident, however, obviously, because of the incident, the US Air Force pilots may be prohibited from working in close contact with the XQ-58A Valkyrie UAV.
