The delivery of Su-57 fighters to the armament of the Algerian Air Force is scheduled for 2028

The Algerian Air Force will receive the first Su-57 fighters in 2028.

The Algerian authorities intend to begin receiving the first Russian fifth generation Su-57 fighters from 2028. According to Avion Legendaires, in 2018, certain agreements were concluded between the two countries for the supply of these combat aircraft to the Algerian Air Force, and in 2022-2023 it is planned to conclude a contract for the supply of 20 combat aircraft at once.

“In Moscow, we are now almost officially promoting the Algerian contract, which will be signed between the second half of 2022 and the first half of 2023, for about twenty copies [of Su-57 fighters - approx. ed.], which will begin shipping from mid-2028 "- reports the Algerian edition "Avion Legendaires".

Despite the absence of any specific data, taking into account the estimated cost of one Su-57 fighter, the total contract between Algeria and Russia can be estimated at 2-3 billion dollars. The start of delivery dates in 2028 indicates that initially the Russian side intends to meet its own needs, as previously reported.

At the same time, there is still unconfirmed information that several Su-57 fighters are also planned to be put into service with neighboring Belarus. We are probably talking about 4 combat aircraft of the fifth generation, although there are no official comments either from Rostec or Minsk on this matter.
