Russian S-500 air defense systems did not reach Syria.

Representatives of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation made a statement that the Russian air defense and missile defense systems C-500 did not pass testing in Syria. This is primarily due to the fact that tests of Russian systems in the Middle East were not foreseen earlier.

“The C-500 is designed to deal with ballistic and aerodynamic targets at long ranges. There was no need for testing, and even more so in the use of the S-500 anti-aircraft missile system in the territory of the Syrian Arab Republic ”, - representatives of the Russian Defense Ministry said.

On the other hand, analysts draw attention to the fact that testing the Russian C-500 in Syria can still be of considerable interest to the Russian military, due to the fact that the radar covers Israeli military bases, with fifth-generation F-35 fighters deployed there , the British Air Force base in Cyprus, and is also located in the flight zone of the US Air Force F-22 fighter jets, however, given the statement of the Russian Ministry of Defense, this is not yet necessary.
