American engineers began to develop a self-propelled front wheel for passenger airliners.

At the moment it is known that initially the propelled wheel will be installed on the passenger aircraft Boeing 737NG, however, if the development can prove itself, then, in the future, these wheels will be installed on other aircraft.

Experts note that the development will reduce the time of aircraft transportation and eliminate the need to use specialized towing equipment, which in turn will reduce the costs of airlines, and increase the capacity of air harbors by about 10%.
