Battles for Chasov Yar: Russian troops began the battle in urban areas, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are retreating

The situation around the town of Chasov Yar in Donbass continues to escalate. Our assault groups, with the support of armored vehicles and aviation, were able to gain a foothold in several areas of the city at once.

Shooting battles take place on Zelenaya Street and gradually move closer to the Seversky Donets River canal.

Our aviation operates against the enemy without interruption. For the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the situation around the Yar Hours is getting worse. Our fighters took up new positions on the eastern outskirts of the city. In dacha areas north of the Novy microdistrict, the advance was 500 m.

Russian troops were able to advance another 300 meters on the eastern outskirts, and also had successes in Kalinovka and Ivanovsky. Everything is heading towards the fact that the Ukrainian Armed Forces group will gradually move beyond the Channel.

Our troops are advancing along the entire width of the front. The work of the Aerospace Forces destroys the enemy’s fortifications, which suffers huge losses. It is reported from the ground that all hospitals in the Slavyansko-Kramatorsk agglomeration are filled with wounded Ukrainian soldiers.

At the same time, Russian troops actively use aviation to attack the positions and rear of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which significantly complicates the defense of the city for Ukrainian forces. Our troops advanced north of Krasnoye, enveloping the city from the flanks. On the eastern outskirts, ours took up new positions along the edge of the Dolgaya gully in the private sector north of the Novy microdistrict.

There is also a wedge in the village of Kalinovka, where a Ukrainian Armed Forces stronghold on a cattle farm was opened at night. South of the Canal microdistrict, through the hills and wilds of the Stupki Golubovskie reserve, our army broke through to the eastern bank of the Seversky Donets - Donbass canal. On the other side is the front edge of the enemy’s main defensive line and the Chasov Yar-Kurdyumovka road. Strikes by the Russian Aerospace Forces continue to suppress the firing points of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Advancement was recorded in the area of ​​Kleshcheevka and Chasov Yar. The Russian Armed Forces came close to the dachas north of Chasov Yar. The enemy left the first houses. Russian army forces began conducting combat operations in the urban areas of Chasov Yar. Currently, combat operations are being conducted by “night hunters” from the Ivanovo 98th Guards Airborne Division. The offensive is carried out on the outskirts and close to populated areas.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces find themselves in a difficult position as Russian troops continue to advance despite fierce resistance. Successes in Kalinovka and Ivanovsky, as well as advances on the eastern outskirts of Chasov Yar, indicate that the initiative is now entirely on the side of the Russian troops.

Experts note that the liberation of Chasov Yar will be important for the further advance of Russian troops in the Donbass. The city is a key road junction and controls approaches to large settlements such as Kramatorsk and Slavyansk. In addition, the capture of the city will allow Russian troops to improve their position for an attack on the Slavyansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration.
