Irish mercenary 'Rambo' shares shocking details of clash with Russian troops

The Irish mercenary, known by the call sign "Rambo" (real name - Reece Byrne), in his recent interview with the British broadcaster Sky News, shared the terrible stories that he experienced while on the front lines.

Byrne, a former machine gunner in the 59th Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reported on the difficulties faced by his unit of 40 people, including surviving Ukrainians, Americans and British. He noted a critical lack of air support and noted that the two tanks that had been brought in to provide cover for his group had abandoned their positions.

Byrne shared a dramatic account of how he spotted an approaching Russian T-72 tank, which he initially mistook for his own, and which undertook a barrage directly towards their position. The survivors of this attack fled into the forest. A "Ukrainian pickup truck" arrived at the scene to evacuate the wounded, but then a Russian tank began to chase the car.

"The shells were flying right over our heads. It's terrifying when you see a T-72 chasing you from a pickup truck. We shouldn't have survived," Byrne said, discussing the dramatic chase.

Byrne is currently undergoing rehab. According to him, "thousands like him scream at night." The mercenary admitted that he was exhausted from the fighting and no longer plans to return to the front. In his candid interview, he reveals the horrific reality, leading to reflections on the complexity and brutality of military conflict.
