The German publication Junge Welt warns of possible risks for Germany itself if Taurus cruise missiles are supplied to Ukraine. According to the publication, the German government risks leaving the country without protection, since along with the missiles it will have to supply the accompanying high-tech IT systems necessary for their use. Germany, as the author notes, has a limited number of such systems, so transferring them to Ukraine will significantly weaken the country’s defense capability.

The topic of arms supplies to Ukraine causes lively debate in German society and the political environment. Bild previously reported that the majority of deputies from Germany's ruling coalition supported the idea of ​​supplying Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine at a vote in the European Parliament. This step could become critical not only for strengthening Ukraine’s military potential, but also cause negative consequences for the security of Germany itself.

In the context of these discussions, Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a conversation with journalist Dmitry Kiselyov, said that the supply of missiles by the West, including Taurus, will not change the course of hostilities. According to him, neither British nor American missiles affect the situation on the battlefield in favor of Ukraine.
