Russia began massively launching military satellites

The Russian Aerospace Forces carried out the second launch of a launch vehicle with a military satellite in the past week from the Plesetsk cosmodrome, located in the Arkhangelsk region. The official message about this event came from the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense. The launch of the Soyuz-2.1v rocket took place as usual, the purpose of which was to launch a military spacecraft into orbit. Details about the nature and functions of the satellite have not been disclosed.

This launch occurred on Wednesday, December 27, at 10:03 local time. This is the seventh launch from the Plesetsk cosmodrome this year and the 19th Russian space launch overall during this period. The previous launch of a military satellite from Plesetsk was carried out on December 21.

The strengthening of the Russian space group is causing concern in the United States. In Washington, fears are expressed that Russian satellites could pose a threat to the spacecraft of Western countries. The United States also claims the “militarization” of space by Russia and China, although the “Star Wars” program was originally launched by the United States.
