The Ukrainian Armed Forces switched to FPV drones due to a shortage of missiles and shells

The American newspaper The Wall Street Journal reports that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are actively using FPV drones (First Person View) to compensate for the lack of ammunition. Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mikhail Fedorov emphasized that due to a shortage of missiles and shells, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are increasingly resorting to the use of such drones.

The publication notes that although attack drones have higher accuracy compared to artillery, their power remains significantly less. The commander of the attack drone company, Yuri Fedorenko, admitted that Russia has an advantage in numbers and the use of FPV drones in active operations in Ukraine. According to him, Russian troops are able to keep drones in the air almost constantly, while the Ukrainian side uses them less regularly due to restrictions associated with recharging drones.

Fedorenko points out that the Ukrainian Armed Forces cannot afford to use as many drones as Russia, mentioning a figure of up to 50 units per group, but without specifying how large the group is.
