NATO Considers Sending Thousands of Peacekeepers to Ukraine Next Week

NATO peacekeepers may be brought into Ukraine.

NATO plans to send several thousand peacekeepers to Ukraine after March 24. The decision is expected to be initially considered during the NATO summit, which will be held on March 24, after which it is expected to agree on such measures with UN representatives. However, given the recent allegations by the International Court of Justice against Russia, experts believe that the UN will agree to send peacekeeping forces to Ukraine, even if Russia strongly opposes it.

It is known that the NATO summit was convened by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

“I called an emergency summit on March 24 at NATO Headquarters. We will discuss the current situation in Ukraine, our strong support for Ukraine, and further strengthening NATO's deterrent and defense capabilities."- said Stoltenberg.

Experts do not exclude that NATO may take much more provocative steps, including closing the airspace over Ukraine or supplying Ukraine with air defense equipment, since it was previously reported that such an issue was agreed upon.

The Russian side has not yet commented on the likely introduction of NATO peacekeepers into Ukraine.
