The UK announced the transfer of Starstreak MANPADS to Ukraine.

The British Ministry of Defense has confirmed earlier reports that Starstreak man-portable air defense systems will be transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The exact number of complexes planned to be delivered to the armament of Ukraine is not called, however, we can talk about 500 MANPADS that are capable of hitting targets at an altitude of up to 5 kilometers and at distances of up to 7 kilometers.

The active armament of Ukraine with portable anti-aircraft missile systems indicates that the West is deliberately creating provocations against Russia. At the same time, if Western sources report the high effectiveness of these weapons, then, according to Russian data, the situation is quite the opposite.

How effective the British Starstreak MANPADS are is still unknown, since these weapons have not been officially used for 25 years since their existence, however, the fact that the systems can work on high-altitude targets is a very serious concern, especially since guidance missiles on the target is carried out in a semi-automatic mode by a laser beam. This makes these complexes more effective and does not allow missiles to be counteracted by decoys in the form of heat traps.
