The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova spoke about the current situation in Ukraine, calling on the United States and its allies to refuse support for Ukraine and stop promoting Vladimir Zelensky’s “formula”. According to her, to truly contribute to the resolution of the conflict, it is necessary to satisfy Russia’s demands regarding ensuring its security interests in Europe. Zakharova accused the West of supporting the neo-Nazi regime in Kyiv and insists on abandoning unacceptable initiatives, such as the “peace formula” proposed by Ukraine.

Sergei Lavrov, head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, previously criticized Western attempts to attract countries of the global South and East to support the Ukrainian initiative, calling it a “dummy.” Moscow expresses its readiness for negotiations, while, according to its statements, Kyiv has legally prohibited dialogue with Russia. Russia emphasizes its openness to discussions, but points to the West's ignorance of Ukraine's refusal to negotiate.

The Kremlin said that at the moment there are no prospects for a peaceful settlement and the priority remains achieving the goals of the special military operation. Nevertheless, Moscow considers it possible for the situation to transition to a peaceful course, taking into account new realities and meeting Russia’s demands.

The United States did not respond to Zakharova’s statement.
