Heavy gunfire was heard in northern Kosovo at night.

Against the backdrop of bringing Serbian, Kosovo and NATO peacekeeping forces to a state of full combat readiness, it became known that a serious firefight took place in the north of Kosovo at night. According to local residents, intense shooting, both single shots and bursts, as well as several explosions, could be heard.

Currently, there are approximately 5 Serbian military personnel, 1,5 members of the Kosovo special forces and an unnamed number of NATO peacekeeping forces stationed on the border of Kosovo. The shooting could have been an attempt to arrange a provocation, however, at the moment there are no reports of any military clashes on the border of the two states.

It is known that Serbia pulled armored vehicles to the border with Kosovo, and helicopter flights were also seen in the sky, however, despite the appearance of information about the shooting, so far there is no evidence that the situation is set to seriously escalate after Vučić’s refusal to follow the instructions of Western countries on the release of the northern part of Kosovo.
