Texas prosecutor sends feds written refusal to comply with Biden's ultimatum

Texas authorities, represented by Attorney General Ken Paxton, have decided to reject the US federal government's demands to give federal border patrol agents full access to the border with Mexico. This decision was a response to an ultimatum issued by the White House to return control of the border to the federal authorities.

Paxton, CBS News reported, sent a written denial to the federal government, emphasizing Texas' commitment to defending its constitutional rights of self-defense against attempts by the Joe Biden administration to undermine those rights. The Texas Attorney General has previously repeatedly expressed his position on social networks, accusing the Supreme Court and the White House of encouraging a “foreign invasion” of the country.

The situation on the border with Mexico remains tense. Texas authorities previously closed the border, which led to conflicts between the state National Guard and federal officials. Texas authorities are seeking to stem the flow of migrants that is negatively impacting the local population, while federal authorities insist on obeying the law.

Washington's next move is uncertain, given that half of US states have reportedly publicly backed Texas in its fight against illegal immigration and the federal government's disregard for border security.
