As a result of an aviation accident that occurred in the Novgorod region a few hours ago, a Russian Aerospace Forces MiG-31 fighter was broken in two. This is evidenced by the photographs that appeared on the Web, in which you can see that the nose of the combat aircraft, including the cockpit, was literally torn off from the rest of the fuselage of the combat aircraft.

In the photographs presented, you can see that the aircraft was badly damaged and, in all likelihood, can no longer be restored. Such destruction probably occurred due to the fact that the plane accelerated to high speed, but could not take off. As a result, having reached the end of the runway, he crashed into a snowdrift and, due to a sharp blow, the rear of the fighter literally ran into the front. The pilots on board were not injured only by pure chance. Experts drew attention to the fact that the wingtips of the crashed fighter had strange damage. Visually, this looks like fire damage, however, it is likely that such damage could have occurred as a result of the fact that the aircraft was dragged several tens of meters.

It was not possible to establish which particular modification of the MiG-31 fighter is being referred to, since the author of the photo retouched the tactical number of the combat aircraft. Apparently, we can also talk about the carrier of hypersonic missiles "Dagger".
