Serbia announced the purchase of Bayraktar TB2 attack drones from Turkey

The President of Serbia announced the purchase of Bayraktar TB2 attack drones from Turkey.

The Serbian authorities have decided to purchase a large batch of Bayraktar TB2 strike and reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles from Turkey. This is supposedly about 12 attack drones, however, it is noteworthy not only that Belgrade did not consider the possibility of buying Russian UAVs, but also that the President of Serbia asked Turkish leader Recep Erdogan to supply attack drones urgently.

“In a conversation two days ago, I asked Turkish President [Recep Tayyip] Erdogan about Bayraktars and received a promise that we could buy them and put them into service with the Serbian army.”, - said the President of Serbia, stressing that he had asked the Turkish leader to ensure the delivery of strike and reconnaissance drones out of turn.

What exactly is the urgent need for the supply of strike and reconnaissance drones is still unknown, however, experts suggest that this may be due to a possible conflict with Kosovo, as previously reported.

A little earlier it became known that Serbia would also acquire a batch of 12 French Rafale fighters - information on this subject was also confirmed by the Serbian leader.
