Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu announced significant losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) during the counteroffensive. According to him, Russian troops destroyed 17 German Leopard tanks, five French AMX armored wheeled tanks and 12 American Bradley infantry fighting vehicles. He told reporters about this during a press conference.

The head of the Russian Defense Ministry stressed that the total number of losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine amounted to "1244 tanks and other armored combat vehicles." These data, according to Shoigu, indicate that the counter-offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine led to significant losses on their side.

In addition, Shoigu cited statistics, according to which, since June 4, the total losses of the enemy amounted to more than 26 thousand military personnel and 3 thousand units of various weapons. These figures are an important indicator of the effectiveness of hostilities and confirm the complexity of the situation for the Ukrainian military.

In his statement, Shoigu also noted that Ukraine actively promoted and "warmed up" the topic of the counter-offensive, which attracted the attention of the "third of the world", which was waiting for the start of the NATO summit in Vilnius. However, instead of the expected successes, according to Shoigu, Ukraine approached the summit with catastrophic losses, which cast doubt on its ability to conduct successful military operations.
