A fragment of the wing of a Malaysian Boeing that went missing in 2014 was found off the coast of Australia.

An Australian fisherman has reported a potentially significant find that may be linked to the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines flight MH370, which disappeared from radar on March 8, 2014. According to the British edition of the Daily Mail, an object believed to be part of an airplane wing was discovered in the Southern Ocean, approximately 55 kilometers from the southeast coast of Australia.

The fisherman said that while fishing, his trawler got caught on a large object on the seabed, which he was able to lift to the surface. In his opinion, the item found could be the wing of a large airliner. The fisherman then provided the GPS coordinates of the location to the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA). AMSA suggested the object may have been part of a shipping container, but an Australian fisherman said the discovery could be linked to the missing Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777.

Airplane MH370, with 227 passengers and 12 crew on board, disappeared on a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing and is believed to have crashed in the southern Indian Ocean. Despite one of the largest search operations in history, the plane was never found.
