The shelling of an American military base in the area of ​​the largest oil field, El Omar, located east of the city of Deir ez-Zor, became especially relevant. Four strikes have been recorded here recently, highlighting rising tensions in the region.

These attacks were a response to earlier US airstrikes against positions of Shiite groups.
