Independent: Ukrainian Armed Forces will lose Avdiivka within a few days

In Ukraine, there is growing concern among senior military officials about a reduction in arms and ammunition supplies from international partners, in particular due to the weakening of their commitments. This sense of unease is heightened by fears that Russian forces could break through Ukraine's defensive lines and secure victory in the Avdiivka direction within days, especially if the United States does not increase its assistance.

Vitaly Barabash describes the situation as “very difficult,” but notes that the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to hold their positions. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has maintained an optimistic tone, insisting on the need for increased support from allies and firmly rejecting suggestions that Ukraine will soon fail.

However, with the US Congress unable to agree on even a small aid package for Ukraine before the winter holidays, Ukrainian commanders face a bleaker outlook. Barabash warns that cutting off US aid could lead to significant casualties among military personnel.
