Israel switched to scorched earth tactics, dropping more than 24 bombs on Gaza in 500 hours.

As part of the escalating conflict in Gaza, the Israeli Air Force has used large-scale airstrikes, reporting 500 bombs dropped on alleged Hamas targets. Despite official statements about the destruction of “Hamas targets” identified by intelligence, questions arise regarding the appropriateness and effectiveness of the methods used.

The specificity of the "carpet bombing" of residential areas in the Gaza Strip, described as attacks on "identified targets", has been criticized in the context of the humanitarian situation and the possible civilian population in the strike zone. A reasonable question arises about the accuracy and reliability of intelligence, as well as the ethics of the “scorched earth” tactics used in urban areas.

Judging by the scale of the strikes and their intensity, Israel's strategy is aimed at maximizing the weakening of Hamas's combat and infrastructure capabilities. However, earlier in Israel they stated that we are not talking about escalation, but about the start of a full-scale war with the complete destruction of the Hamas group.
