UK Defense Secretary threatens large-scale bombing campaign against Yemen's Houthis

British Defense Secretary Grant Shapps said the UK is ready to actively counter threats from the Houthis in the Red Sea. He wrote about this in an article for the Telegraph newspaper. The announcement follows a series of attacks and ambushes in waters off the coast of Yemen.

Shapps stressed that the UK does not hesitate to use direct action to ensure the safety of navigation in the Red Sea, which implies striking the territory of Yemen. He also warned the Houthis against underestimating Britain's resolve to retaliate. He cited the example of the destroyer HMS Diamond, which last month used Sea Viper anti-aircraft missiles for the first time in 30 years.

According to UK government sources, the possibility of using Royal Air Force fighters or the destroyer HMS Diamond to strike targets in the Red Sea or Yemen is being considered.

Due to the UK's actions, experts expect a serious escalation in the region.
