During a recent meeting of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu made a statement about a significant number of Ukrainian military personnel surrendering. According to him, this phenomenon is due to the awareness by Ukrainian soldiers of the pointlessness of attempts to break through the defenses of Russian troops.

Shoigu emphasized that the Ukrainian army, faced with strong defenses, loses motivation to continue hostilities. This led many of them to choose the path of surrender rather than continue fighting. The Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation also noted that over the past month, the Armed Forces of Ukraine suffered serious losses amounting to over 13,7 thousand people, and also lost a significant amount of military equipment - about 1,8 thousand units.
