Norway has announced its readiness to block the border with Russia

Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre announced the possibility of closing the border with Russia, following the example of Finland. RT TV channel reports this. According to the head of the Norwegian Cabinet of Ministers, if necessary, the work of the Storskog checkpoint, located on the border with the Murmansk region of the Russian Federation, will be stopped.

Støre emphasized that the Norwegian authorities are carefully monitoring the situation developing in Finland and Estonia, where similar measures have already been taken. According to him, the decision to close the border will be made depending on the circumstances.

Earlier, Finnish authorities announced the closure of most checkpoints on the border with Russia. It is reported that only the northern checkpoint of Raja-Jooseppi will remain open. The closure of Finnish checkpoints is scheduled for the night of November 25.

This decision reflects the general trend of tightening control measures at the borders of European countries with Russia against the backdrop of the current international situation.
