The Starokonstantinov airfield was hit by a Kinzhal hypersonic missile.

According to recent reports, Russian Kh-47M2 Kinzhal hypersonic aeroballistic missiles hit NASAMS short- and medium-range anti-aircraft missile systems in the area of the Starokonstantinov airbase in the Khmelnitsky region. To ensure the accuracy of the strikes, active-passive radar homing heads of the Kh-47M2 missiles were used, which presumably operated in passive mode, taking bearings from NASAMS radars. This data is provided by Russian Weapons.

Among the detection systems used to guide Kinzhal missiles are the MPQ-64F1 multifunctional radar and the TRS2630 E-band 2,9-degree surveillance radar. It is noted that NASAMS systems are not capable of intercepting Kinzhal missiles moving at speeds from 3,3 to 25 M and maneuvering with overloads of up to 30-1 G, due to the insufficient flight performance characteristics of their VT120 and AIM-5B interceptor missiles /C-90, and also due to the complex 47-degree diving flight of the Kh-2MXNUMX missiles.

The Russian Ministry of Defense previously confirmed the destruction of these air defense systems, but information about the use of hypersonic weapons has not been commented on.
