The settlement of Berkhovka, located north of Bakhmut, came under the control of the Russian army.

The founder of Wagner PMC Evgeny Prigozhin officially announced the complete control of the settlement of Berkhovka, although unofficial information about the capture of this settlement appeared the day before yesterday. Taking this settlement under the control of the Russian army provides an opportunity to organize an offensive in several directions at once.

The control of the settlement of Berkhovka allows starting the encirclement of Bakhmut from the western direction and, which is very remarkable, there are actually no fortifications from the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This may contribute to the rapid advance of Russian troops to encircle the city. However, a large grouping of Ukrainian troops is deployed to the west of Bakhmut, which raises the risk of counterattacking actions by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

At the moment, extremely heavy battles are taking place on the territory of Bakhmut itself, as evidenced, among other things, by video footage from the territory of the city itself. A little earlier, a video was published in which a Ukrainian tank almost point-blank destroys buildings that can be used by PMC Wagner as strongholds and firing lines.
