Russian Vikhr anti-tank missiles successfully penetrate the armor of German Leopard 2 tanks, demonstrating their high vulnerability. This conclusion was made on the basis of an analysis of tanks shot down by Ka-52 helicopters equipped with these missiles.
The results of the analysis indicate that Vikhr anti-tank missiles successfully hit the upper part of the armor of tanks, where it is the thinnest. A study of the equipment hit by helicopters showed that most of the damage was inflicted in this area. This testifies to the high effectiveness of Russian anti-tank missiles against German technology.
At the same time, the damage is not critical - breaks in the armor are fixed mainly at the welding points, however, in the event of a repeated hit in this area, the tank is guaranteed to be destroyed.
It is noteworthy that during the defeat of the Leopard 2 tanks, it turned out that the chassis is the most vulnerable - the tank does not receive critical damage, however, at the same time, it cannot participate in the battle.
