The Syrian air defense systems have once again demonstrated the highest result in the fight against the Israeli attack.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reports that the Syrian air defense systems were successfully able to repel an attack by the Israeli air force on the suburbs of Damascus. As follows from the data presented, the F-15 fighters of the Israeli Air Force (initially it was reported about F-16 fighters - editor's note) fired 24 missiles at Syria, however, Buk (Buk-M2E) anti-aircraft missile systems and anti-aircraft missiles -cannon complexes "Pantsir-S" were able to successfully intercept 21 Israeli missiles, that is, most of the targets were successfully shot down while approaching the Syrian border.

Taking into account the data provided by the Russian defense department, the effectiveness of the Syrian air defense system was 87,5%. It is also noteworthy that the three remaining missiles also could not successfully hit targets in the suburbs of the Syrian capital and their guidance systems were suppressed by unknown means of electronic warfare, as a result of which the missiles hit targets wide.

It is noteworthy that in addition to repelling the attacks of the Israeli air force, the Syrian air defense systems also attacked Israeli fighters, firing at least one missile (according to other sources, two missiles) of the S-200 air defense system, which self-destructed over Tel Aviv, apparently failing catch up with an Israeli warplane.

The Syrian authorities, in turn, demanded that the UN take appropriate measures in response to the Israeli aggression, and, obviously, Russia is ready to support the legitimate demands of Damascus.
