Su-30SM crashed in Kazakhstan

The Kazakh Air Force suffered losses of equipment in the form of the Su-30 SM multipurpose fighter. According to the press service of the Kazakh Ministry of Defense, the plane crashed in the Karaganda region.

The Kazakh military reported that the plane was performing a training flight during the fall. The crash occurred while the fighter was landing at the airfield of the training center in the city of Balkhash, Karaganda region.

The crew managed to eject, the pilots survived, and nothing threatens their lives. At the moment, the crew is under medical supervision.

The reasons for the fall have not yet been clarified; a special commission is working at the crash site to investigate the incident.

The Su-30M multipurpose fighters have been in service with the Kazakh Air Force since 2015. Earlier it became known that the Ministry of Defense of the country is going to purchase a total of 36 such aircraft.

The Su-30M is a 4 ++ generation multipurpose fighter made in the Russian Federation. Its main task is to gain air supremacy. The aircraft can carry out the tasks assigned to it at any time of the day and under any weather conditions. It is capable of effectively hitting not only air targets, but also ground targets, as well as conducting reconnaissance and transmitting data on identified targets to other aircraft of the group.
