Since the beginning of the week, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost five Leopard 2A4 tanks in the Rabotino area of ​​the Zaporozhye region. These losses were especially noticeable given the fact that many of these combat vehicles were not equipped with basic protection against unmanned aerial vehicles.

Previously, already faced with the threat from kamikaze drones, the Ukrainian side apparently did not take measures to adequately protect its tanks. In contrast, Russian tanks during the Avdeevka offensive demonstrated protection against UAVs, including methods such as canopies over the turret.

Currently, Ukraine has lost a quarter of the total number of Leopard 2A4 tanks received. Of the 40 vehicles delivered, 10 were destroyed, half of them in the last seven days. This indicates serious problems in ensuring the protection and operation of such equipment.
