Ukrainian drones attacked Zaporizhia NPP

On Wednesday night, the Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out an attack with combat drones on the territory of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, as reported by the official Telegram channel of the nuclear power plant’s press service. As a result of the attack, the areas of the cargo port and nitrogen-oxygen station No. 2, located on the territory of the Zaporizhia NPP, were hit. According to preliminary data, the vital infrastructure of the facility was not damaged, and the nuclear plant’s systems continue to function normally without any disruptions.

The administration of the Zaporozhye NPP emphasizes that any shelling of the nuclear power plant and its infrastructure is categorically unacceptable, since it can negatively affect the safety of the facility’s operation and lead to extremely undesirable consequences.

In connection with these events, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, expressed serious concern and warned the Ukrainian government and Western countries against any further attempts to attack or destabilize the situation around the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. In addition, Russia called on the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to intensify the work of its experts on the ground to document and record all facts of attacks from Ukraine, but no official comments from the IAEA have yet followed.
