Russia is completing the development of an underwater attack drone

Russian specialists are working on creating a new attack underwater drone capable of carrying a payload of up to 5 kg. This was reported by a source in the domestic defense-industrial complex, TASS reports.

This multifunctional underwater drone is being developed for use for Russian special purposes. It is designed to deliver loads over a distance of up to one kilometer. However, its functionality is not limited to just delivery: the drone can also be used to inspect various structures, including checking for mines, such as bridge supports, and delivering various cargo.

At the moment, the drone is at the finalization stage. It is planned that it will be tested in February. During testing, it is expected to test all the functions of the drone, including strike capabilities and cargo delivery.

The developers are working on creating a drone with four engines that can carry a payload of up to 5 kg over a distance of up to 1 km. Plans include moving to the testing phase in February.

There are no details yet about the use of the new device during a special military operation, and it is also unknown which company is developing it. However, it is obvious that the commissioning of such a drone could significantly expand the capabilities of the Russian military in the aquatic environment.
