The United States is commenting with horror on the appearance of Russia's newest cruise missile with a range of hitting targets up to 6,5 thousand kilometers

Recently it became known that Russian Tu-160 strategic bombers are now equipped with the latest X-BD cruise missiles. These missiles have a combat range of more than 6,5 thousand kilometers, which will allow them to hit targets in almost all of Europe, while being on Russian territory. Such conclusions were made by American expert Thomas Newdick in his review for The Drive.

There are few known details about the new weapon, but Newdick suggests that the X-BD could be developed on the basis of the previous generation of X-101/102 missiles. In the future, this new model could completely replace outdated missiles. It is also expected that in addition to the Tu-160, the promising long-range aviation complex PAK DA will become the carrier of the X-BD.

According to Newdick, the increased firing range could be achieved through the miniaturization of components, the use of a new type of fuel, and improvements in the engine and aerodynamics of the rocket. The new missile will likely have a low radar signature, making it even more effective on the battlefield.

Currently, it is believed that the X-BD is still at the state testing stage and has not been officially put into operation. Newdick suggests that the missile could be tested on the Tu-160.
