Zakharova called those who shelled Donetsk on New Year's Eve a terrorist beast

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova condemned the shelling of Donetsk on New Year's Eve, calling its perpetrators a “terrorist beast.” She expressed her outrage at the shelling of civilian targets, which led to civilian casualties. These words of Zakharova appeared in her Telegram channel.

The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, said that the shelling was carried out by Ukrainian armed forces using multiple launch rocket systems in the central regions of Donetsk, including Kalininsky and Budennovsky. Pushilin called on residents to stay in shelters and reported casualties: according to the latest data, four people were killed and 13 were injured.

“The fire was again directed at civilian targets. There are dead and wounded. Only a terrorist beast could do this."- said Zakharova.

The mayor of Donetsk, Alexey Kulemzin, also reported on his Telegram channel about the scale of the destruction. As a result of the shelling, educational institutions, a business center, a hotel, railway tracks and city infrastructure, including tram lines, were damaged.

It should be noted that a year ago, the Ukrainian Armed Forces also attacked Makeyevka on New Year’s Eve, resulting in the death of a large number of people.
