The Boeing 787 Dreamliner, also known as the Boeing 7E7, is a wide-body jet passenger airliner developed by the American company "Boeing Commercial Airplanes"For use on medium and long in routing. Depending on the modification, 787-oh is capable of carrying up to 210 380 from passengers over a distance of up to 15 thousand kilometers. Dreamliner is designed to further the replacement Boeing 767, as well as to compete with the European wide-body aircraft Airbus A330... Thanks to the extensive use of composite materials and the installation of fuel-efficient engines, this airliner consumes 15-20% less fuel than the Boeing 767.

The cost of the aircraft

787-8 - 212 million $.

Boeing 787 produced in collaboration with numerous suppliers from all over the world. Final assembly of the aircraft takes place at the Boeing plant in Everett, Washington, as well as on the new company's plant in South Carolina in North Charleston.

By the late 90s, Boeing began considering a program to replace Boeing 767 aircraft. Initially, in 2001, a project was put forward to create a passenger airliner capable of flying at near sonic speeds, which would reduce flight times. This project has received the designation Boeing Sonic Cruiser.

What is 787?

Composites - 50%
Aluminum - 20%
Titanium - 15%
Steel - 10%
Other - 5%

Several major carriers in the US, including airline "Continental Airlines"Supported the creation of a high-speed airliner. But after the events of September 11 2001 years, and the ensuing rise in oil and fuel prices, airlines began to show more interest in terms of the fuel efficiency of aircraft than its speed performance. For this reason, in December 20 2002 years, Boeing Sonic Cruiser project was officially canceled.

On January 29, 2003, Boeing announced the change of course from the creation of a high-speed passenger airliner to an economical one. The project received the designation Boeing 7E7. In July 2003, the 7E7 project was also named Dreamliner. Later on January 28, 2005, the company announced that the new airliner would be produced under the designation Boeing 787 Dreamliner. April 26, 2004, the Japanese airline "All Nippon Airways"I have become the first customer for the Dreamliner, announcing an order for 50 aircraft with the first deliveries scheduled for the year 2008.

Sales target: 3,300 units over the next 20 years (2011-2030)

The base model of the aircraft received the designation Boeing 787-8. This version is designed for aircraft replacement Boeing 767-300ER and, depending on the configuration of the passenger compartment, it is capable of transporting from 234 to 296 passengers at a distance of 14100 to 15200 kilometers. The length of the Boeing 787-8 is 56,7 meters with a wingspan of 60,1 meters. Two GEnx-1B turbojet engines from General Electric or Trent-1000 from Rolls-Royce are located in the nacelles under the swept wing. These engines each have a thrust of 280 kN.

A large number of carbon fiber composite materials were used on the aircraft. Composite materials on the Boeing 787 have been applied on the bearing surfaces, fuselage, tail and doors. The use of composites made it possible to preserve the strength of the aircraft with a reduced weight of the entire structure, and this, in turn, had a positive effect on fuel efficiency.

The Boeing 787 is equipped with a modern ARINC 661 avionics complex. Wide multifunctional displays are used to display flight information. Also in the cockpit, like military aircraft, a head-up display (HUD) is installed on the windshield to display important flight information. It is also being considered in the future to integrate FLIR (Forward looking infrared) thermal sensing technology into this system. This system, thanks to IR cameras and IR sensors, allows you to "see" through the clouds.

Initially, the flight of the aircraft was planned for September 2007, but for various reasons, the first flight was constantly postponed, and was made on December 15, 2009. All tests were completed in mid-2011. In the same year, at the end of August, American and European certificates of readiness for flights were received. Dreamliner's commercial operation began on October 26, 2011.

In addition to the base model, it is planned to produce three more variants of the aircraft.

This is a shortened version of the Boeing 787-3, 56,7 meters long and designed for flights up to 6 thousand kilometers.

Extended to 62,8 meters, Boeing 787-9, with a range of 15,7 kilometers. Its deliveries are planned for 2014. This version allows, depending on the configuration of the seats, to accommodate in your cabin from 250 to 290 passengers in those classes.

In 2013, Boeing announced work to create the longest airliner in the Boeing 787 family. This version, with a length of 68,3 meters and a wingspan of 60,1 meters, was designated Boeing 787-10.

As of September 2013, 86 units of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner family were built.

YES plane cool comfort maximum !!! Well distant trunk !!!

In the top photo - Airbus380.

Kosyachniki - lyapa, do not look

Beauty!!!

An excellent plane. On paper, today it is probably already technically outdated (or during the implementation period), but of those aircraft that fly today, it is undoubtedly one of the best. Relatively not large mass, excellent quality and those. characteristics. Great opportunities, carrying capacity, capacity, speed. If memory does not fail, the circumference of the planet at the equator is 24.000 km, and this bird has a flight range of 15.300 km. In two sorties it will "go around" the world. This is definitely not the old American junk piled up in the CIS, which is falling apart in the airspace and airports.

Earth's circumference at the equator a little more 40000km. Memory summarized.

The circumference of the planet at the equator - 40000 km.

almost 50000 km !!!!! (49 ...)
