Six Ukrainian border guards surrendered on the border of the Kursk region

An incident occurred on the border of the Kursk region and Ukraine in which six Ukrainian border guards voluntarily surrendered. The governor of the Kursk region, Roman Starovoyt, announced this on December 16.

The governor mentioned the presence of an open communication channel on the frequency 149.200, which is intended for military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) who want to lay down their arms. Starovoit called on the Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters to contact this frequency to save their lives, using the code address “Volga”.

Additional information about the incident was not provided, and the relevant departments have not yet commented on the governor’s data.

In the context of this message, it is worth noting that Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a meeting with the leadership of the State Duma and faction leaders, noted an increase in the number of Ukrainian military personnel surrendering. Also on the same day, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced that 82 Ukrainian military personnel had surrendered in a week.
