The Tu-134 (under the NATO code “Hard”) is a Soviet passenger aircraft for medium and small length air lines, which was developed at the beginning of the 1960-ies in the Tupolev experimental design bureau and mass-produced from 1966 to 1984 for the aviation Kharkov Kharkiv production association. Made the first flight of 29.07.1963, since September 1967, in operation. One of the most popular passenger aircraft, which was going in the Soviet Union. Total, along with pre-production and prototypes, built 854 aircraft of various modifications. Production was completely discontinued in 1989. Tu-134 exported to the countries of the Socialist camp.

The Tu-134 is a passenger short-haul aircraft with two D-30 twin-turbojet engines on serial and D-20П-125 on experimental aircraft. The engines are on pylons in the rear fuselage, which reduces to a large extent the noise in the cabin in comparison with aircraft of past generations. The horizontal tail is set at the top of the keel (T-shaped tail tail). Fuel is placed in the caisson tanks on the wing. Tu-134 has been certified to international standards. The aircraft was built in various variations: special purpose vehicles, passenger, flying laboratories. Also used in Air Force schools.

The Tu-134 is produced according to the scheme of a fully-supported all-metal low plan and has a swept wing (sweep angle - 35 degrees), two D-30 engines of different series located in the tail of the fuselage. Wing mechanization - interceptors and double-slotted flaps and produced only on the ground; slat no. The fuselage is “plagiarized” from the Tu-124 and seven meters longer. T-shaped plumage. Retractable, tricycle landing gear. The front rack is cleaned in a niche in the fuselage, the rear - in specially designed for this purpose gondolas on the wing. Rear struts have two axles.

The constructional features of previous versions of the Tu-134 include a glazed nose (in the place of the navigator), and a brake flap under the center section. On modern variations of the aircraft mounted "Thunderstorm-134", a radar system. The Tu-134 also became the first jet aircraft in the USSR, which did not use cable wiring to the rudder (as they used to do on past models - Tu-16 bomber and Tu-104 and Tu-124 passenger), installing the power booster and replacing it with a hard bar.

At the moment, the planes have established a 40 resource of thousands of flight hours, 25 thousands of flights over 25 years. In the case of an individual assessment of the state of the resource can be consistently increased to 55 thousands of flight hours, 32 thousands of flights, 40 years.

An interesting feature of this aircraft is the arrangement of a pair of first passenger seats with a back forward, as well as in a railroad car that has a table between the rows that face each other. Such a solution is not found anymore on any other commercial modern aircraft.
